However, a long-simmering betrayal has undone this balance. Altherion, an exiled noble who swore vengeance, forged an alliance with an ancestral force that everyone believed extinct: the Karumn, shadowy beings who once nearly destroyed the world.

With the rise of darkness, the Guardians are weakened, their powers no longer able to contain the chaos.
