The Three Faces of Laura

Laura Délsur is the daughter of the gardener at the Fromnorth mansion. In a world dominated by the powerful Company and a mysterious Silver Wall, Laura grows up in the shadow of her twin brother, Luís, who was given to Lord Fromnorth to be raised as his heir under the name Ángel.

After witnessing the murder of her aunt Rosa by company thugs, Laura develops a deep rage against the system and an impossible desire: to have been born a man so she could protect those she loves. Her life takes a turn when she meets her own brother unknowingly—Ángel—and they try to escape together. Ángel drowns in a frozen lake, and Laura, desperate, assumes his identity to infiltrate the Fromnorth household and take revenge on the patriarch who raped her.

With the help of two figures only she can see —Roberto, her male alter ego, and Verónica, her revolutionary conscience—Laura poses as the heir. However, her mind begins to fracture between hallucinations, dementia episodes, and the confusion between what is real and what her own psyche has created. As she climbs the ranks within the Company, she is forced to suppress the worker uprisings she herself inspired, while discovering that the Silver Wall conceals a system of mind control capable of rewriting the memory of the entire population.

The novel explores themes such as gender identity, class struggle, repression, memory, and madness, in a steampunk and dystopian universe.
