My name is Mário Simão, a pastor, biblical researcher, musician, and author of the work titled The Adversary Prosecutor (O Adversário Promotor). I would like to submit to this commission a summary of my exegetical and philological research, which focuses on the translation and analysis of the Old Testament based directly on the Masoretic Text.
This research proposes a strictly literal translation method designed to restore the original Semitic context and the absolute sovereignty of God, addressing anachronisms and translation biases perpetuated over centuries in vernacular versions.
Core Pillars of the Research:
• Lexical Analysis of Ha-Satan and Diabolos: The philological distinction between the Hebrew term satan — understood in its primary judicial context as the Adversary Prosecutor, an agent of divine justice operating under God's authority — and the later Greek concept of diabolos (slanderer/father of lies).
• Rigor in the Masoretic Text: The removal of Latin and dogmatic interpolations (such as the insertion of the term Lucifer in Isaiah 14:12), restoring the original Semitic poetic context (Helel ben-Shahar) and the historical background of the Ancient Near East.
• Preservation of Divine Sovereignty: Demonstrating that the origin of sin belongs exclusively to the creature's free choice, eliminating any reading that attributes to God any partnership with or dependency on evil entities.
I am at the disposal of this commission to present the full work, discuss the method
