The Final Rule on Walking-Working Surfaces and Fall Protection, issued by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), modernizes and strengthens the standards for workplace safety related to walking-working surfaces (e.g., floors, ladders, stairways, and scaffolds) and fall protection systems. The rule, which applies to general industry workplaces, aims to reduce the risk of slips, trips, and falls—the leading cause of workplace injuries and fatalities.
